Race Brook Country Club
Founded in 1912, Race Brook Country Club is one of the oldest private country clubs in Connecticut.  The original 18 holes named the No. 1 course opened on July 14, 1913, on the original 145 acres owned by the club.  The course was designed by Robert D. Pryde, a native of Scotland and the first coach of the Yale University golf team.  All of the greens were covered with Creeping Bent 1923 Washington strain refined by Mr. Pryde with his vision to provide "courses with well-kept fairways, splendid greens and unique and fascinating hazards which are not too difficult."

On September 23, 1926, the No. 2 course was opened on the additional 125 acres bought in 1924, making Race Brook the first 36-hole country club in New England.  While the club closed the No. 2 course during World War II, after the war ended and membership levels rebounded, the club reopened nine holes in 1951.  The nine holes was named the O'Sullivan in 2009 after famous Connecticut golfer, Pat O'Sullivan Lucey.

The championship course has long been considered one of the finest tests of golf in New England, witness the championships contested, most recently the 2012 Connecticut Amateur Championship, 2011 New England Senior Amateur Championship, 2005 Connecticut PGA Championship and 2004 New England Amateur Championship.

Race Brook Country Club offers something for all golfers.  There is a driving range with grass and matt tees depending on weather conditions, short game area for pitching and chipping, and putting green.  The nine hole O'Sullivan course is great for juniors, new golfers, ladies and senior golfers, and the 18 hole championship course is challenging for the intermediate and advanced golfers.  With the PGA Family Course on the O'Sullivan every member can find a tee location fit for their skill level and driving distance, and easily establish a handicap.
