    Golf Club Rental:

For juniors to play their best and enjoy the game the first step is properly fit clubs. The length, weight and grip size are important for children’s golf development.  Properly fit clubs help creative a better motion and poor fit clubs can create bad habits.  Children may need a new set each year and maybe two if they have a growth spurt. So needless to say, buying junior clubs can get expensive.  Once children reach 13 years old or 5’7” they are into adult clubs.

Paul and Jennifer offer a yearly rental for $60. If your child has a growth spurt in season, they will swap the clubs out for the correct size.  Contact Jennifer for a fitting and for more information.

    Country Club Dress Code:

Race Brook is a private country club and therefore has a strict dress code. No jeans, t-shirts, warm-up, athletic, sweat, cargo shorts or pants, for players and spectators.  Men and boys, whether they are playing or not, must have a collared shirt that is tucked in.  Women and girls shirts do not need a collar and shirt doesn’t need to be tucked in but they may feel more comfortable wearing a golf polo shirt.  For women and girls there is no restriction on wearing leggings, but the leggings should not look like athletic wear.  Golf shoes are not required, sneakers or runners are fine.

    Sign-up & Payment:

Contact Jennifer Barnsley, cell 203-812-9365, golf shop 203-397-9806, email jennifer@barnsleygolf.com for more information or sign up for an event.  Payment for spring after school clinics can be made day of event.  Payment with cash or check made payable to Jennifer Barnsley. Junior Private Lesson Rates

Private lessons for junior golfers are usually for ages 13-18 years old getting ready to play on their high school team or are in high school and may be looking to play in college.  By 13 years old, juniors wanting to play on their high school team are more serious (or should be more serious) about golf and have chosen golf as their main sport and are motivated to practice regularly.  Taking private lessons is a way to improve faster and perform better in competition.
